Madecassoside is glycosylated triterpen of
centella asiatica with high purity. It is an active ingredient used in dry
skin, sensitive skin, anti-aging mature
skin applications. Madecassoside activates collagen expression, which provides
the normalization of keratinocyte proliferation, global anti-inflammatory functions
and visible effects on excessive desquamation. This product is water soluble
crystalline powder, almost odorless.
Madecassoside is one of the four main
bioactive compounds in centella asiatica extracts. A double-blind study showed
that even a small amount of this ingredinet (0.1% in one case) working with
vitamin C has antioxidant effects and acts as an antioxidant itself. Research
has also shown that it can be non-sensitized and can help revitalize the skin
surface.
